- ABOUT US
We believe that travel and learning go hand in hand, and have been associated with the Round Square International - bringing students from premier schools all over India and the world to participate in service projects in Ladakh.
Our Educational student tours have been carefully designed to offer a balance of adventure, discovery, community focus, and self empowerment.
We have been working with the LAMDON school at Thiksey since the last five years, and assisting them in building a hostel block. Student volunteers spend a week at the construction site, laying bricks, chopping wood, and building individual rooms. The students also interact with the students from Lamdon school, with a
Our trips also incorporate an exciting trek for the participants, enabling them to challenge themselves fully.
A trip to the famous Pangong lake, with a few monastery visits, give a comprehensive structure to the trip.
Our dedication to making each trip perfect for every individual is the reason why people return year on to enjoy Ladakh with us. Read their testimonials to learn about why we are the preferred company in Leh.
I, first, had recourse to use Wangchuk Kalon's services in organising the infrastructure of community service projects way back in 1994. Since then he, his agency Snow Leopard Trails (SLT) and its team have been involved in many subsequent Round Square International community service projects and all have been both reliable and consistent in what has been offered and actually done in the provision of such supporting infrastructure. This continues to be so for the regional Round Square community service projects in the Ladakh region. This has involved the provision of a standing camp during the service project work time and the traditional mobile fully service camp during treks after the project. The standard of equipment provided has been up to the mark and the SLT team has continually set benchmark standards in the quality of service and food provided - I am still impressed by a Ladakhi cook's ability to bake a cake, without the use of an oven, at over 4500m! I have recommended SLT to others and without a doubt all have been more than satisfied by the care and local guiding expertise show by the SLT team members.Tony Hyde
In wild life ventures the ability of the SLT team members to talk about and "spot" the local wild life has been exemplary and, at times, has left one asking the question “How did they do it?" I have travelled the length and breadth of the Ladakh region with SLT and hope to continue using them in the years to come. SLT is my first port of call for anything that I wish to organise in the Ladakh region.

I worked with Snow Leopard Trails for six years organising trips for students to come and experience Ladakh. Their tours included some time spent living in a community and working alongside villagers helping to build schools. Then the group would experience a 5-day high-altitude trek alongside guides from Snow Leopard, and finally enjoy some fascinating cultural tours to local sights. Each trip would last around 30 days, and throughout the whole tour, Snow Leopard Trails provided exceptional guides, cooks and local liaison staff for our group. Their attention to detail was always very precise; they would always pay very particular attention to safety, ensuring that the team was properly acclimatised to the altitude before embarking on any activities. Their guides and cook teams also provided fantastic support (not to mention delicious meals!) throughout the whole trip. They were always proud to introduce the students to their culture, and became more than just guides - they became friends and great ambassadors for their country. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Snow Leopard Trails to any school considering bringing their students to Ladakh!LG
